This is the first page of a prologue for a short comic series I want to do about the first generation of Pokemon. The goal of this comic page, and the comic as a whole is to capture the feeling of what it was like to play Pokemon. Those of you that grew up playing Pokemon know that your feelings while playing Pokemon far exceed what could be seen at face value.

This scene involves Pokemon Trainer Red, leaving home for the first time. The lines are taken directly from the game exactly as Red's mom said them. The final line comes from the sign in Pallet Town just outside of Red's house. This even in the game is largely looked over, so I wanted to interpret it in the way I felt it was meant to be.

PS. This series is based mostly on the Pokemon Red and Blue generation games and a little bit on the Pokemon Adventures manga. It does not have anything to do with the anime. That means the main character is NOT Ash Ketchum. This is Pokemon Trainer Red!
